Woman given discharge for using another’s debit card

A woman who dishonestly received thousands of dollars in goods and services was given a conditional discharge in Magistrates’ Court.

Udori Henry, 22, admitted receiving items valued at $3,185.99 from various businesses when she appeared in court in March.

Henry, from Pembroke, acquired the items, as well as $612.38 worth of room charges from the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, by falsely claiming that she had permission to use a debit card belonging to Christopher Preyra-Leader.

She committed the offences between July and October 2023 and apologised for her actions yesterday before being sentenced.

Magistrate Craig Attridge sentenced Henry to a two-year conditional discharge for the offences and warned her to stay out of trouble during that time.

Conditions include paying Mr Leader $3,798.37 in restitution, probation and not leaving the island without permission.
