Top cricketers on the move
Some of Bermuda’s former and current national team cricketers have chosen new clubs for the upcoming season including the hard-hitting Glenn Blakeney, fast bowlers Kevin Hurdle and Ryan Steede, opening bat Chris Foggo and Fiqre Crockwell.Flatts Victoria and Cleveland County are the biggest winners so far in the off-season, with the clubs grabbing five and four new additions to their squads respectively.Flatts have obtained Hurdle from Western Stars while Blakeney moves from Bay to Cleveland, as reported by the Gazette earlier this week.In the transfer list released by Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) yesterday, ten teams have gained the services of new players while a few have seen their ranks depleted.Steede has joined Bay from St.George’s, Foggo has opted to play for PHC after leaving Devonshire Rec and Crockwell moves from PHC to St.David’s.Flatts will also welcome Oladapo Frederick, Jacal Minors, Diego McCallan and Maurice Lowe.Eastern Counties club Cleveland will be bolstered by Randy Bean, Anthony Bascome and Ramar Simmons.PHC will also have a new look when they take to the pitch this term, after losing four players while picking up four.Out go Ricardo Brangman Jr., Dean Stephens and Dean Richards, all of whom are going to Devonshire Rec.Coming into the team are William White, Jonathan Bell and Khiry Furbert.Other sides to dip into the market were St. George’s, Bailey’s Bay, Young Men’s Social Club, Western Stars and Somerset Bridge.The full transfer list (players in):Flatts Victoria Oladapo Frederick, Kevin Hurdle, Jacal Scott Minors, Diego McCallan, Maurice Lowe.St. George’s Clay Darrell.PHC Christopher Foggo , William White, Jonathan Ball, Khiry Furbert.Bailey’s Bay Ryan Steede, Dage Minors.Young Men Social Club Reid Trott, Kearon Trott.Devonshire Rec Dean Richards, Ricardo Brangman, Dean Stephens.St. David’s Fiqre Crockwell, Ajuan Lamb.Western Stars Keshun Smith.Somerset Bridge Clarence Trott.Cleveland County Randy Bean, Glenn Smith-Blakeney, Anthony Bascome, Ramar Simmons.
