Stars scored 283 for five off their 50 overs, with opener Outerbridge carrying his bat in scoring his century off 164 balls. Warwick replied with 108 in 24.3 overs.

Supporting Outerbridge in the batting was Temiko Wilson with 34 from 41 balls as the pair added 86 for the third wicket. Seion Darrell contributed 26 from 37 balls.

Chris Kawaley claimed two for 47 for Warwick, who were led in the batting by player-coach Lionel Cann, who stroked 55 from 71 balls, with six fours and a six after opening the innings. Kawaley was next high man with 17 in the middle order as only three reached double figures.

Captain Brian Hall claimed four for six from five overs to lead the Stars bowling, while Seth Campbell took three for 49 as Warwick struggled to reach three figures.

Kijuan Franks produced a fine all-round performance to lead Flatts to a 23-run win over PHC at PHC Stadium. Opening the innings after Flatts won the toss, Franks made a high score of 54 before he was fifth out wit the total 126. The innings limped towards a conclusion, with Hasan Durham and Ellsworth Bean doing the damage for PHC. Durham, the former Bermuda and Somerset Cup Match slow left-armer, claimed four for 32 from ten overs, while Bean, although a tad expensive, claimed three for 45.

Despite losing their first wicket in the chase without a run on the board, PHC could feel justified in thinking that they wasted a great opportunity to start the season with a win.

From 36 for three, Bean and Khiry Furbert, the captain, not only rescued the innings but put them in a position of strength before the bottom fell out.

Furbert was run out for 49 when the partnership had reached 92 and the score was 128. This triggered a collapse of tragic proportion, with Franks right in the middle of it, the all-rounder crowning his big day with four for 36 from ten overs.

At Devonshire Recreation Club, Somerset Bridge beat Devonshire Rec by one wicket in a thrilling finish.

Bridge won the toss and put Devonshire in to bat, with the home side scoring 194 from 42,4 overs. Lamont Brangman top-scored with 40, while Derek Hill did the damage with the ball in taking four wickets for 53 runs.

In reply, Bridge reached the required total for the loss of nine wickets, with Ryan Shepherd making 58. Brangman was the pick of the Devonshire bowlers, taking four wickets for 28.

The result capped a fine two days for Bridge, who avenged their early-season defeat by Bermuda Under-17 on Saturday, winning by nine wickets at St John’s Field against a nine-man outfit.

Bridge, with Donnie Charles taking seven for 13, rolled the youngsters for 43 in only 12 overs and then required exactly the same amount to complete the inevitable. Solomon Burrows was 21 not out at the end in company with Charles, who had made 11.
