Michael Stovell, a Warwick Workman’s Club coach, has won this week’s Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award for his dedication to the team’s programme
Stovell is the coach of Warwick’s under-eight team and he has also stepped up to coach the under-11 team when their coach, David Gibbons, could no longer coach the team because of an Achilles injury.
He has also volunteered to perform the team manager duties for the club’s senior team, which enabled coach Lionel Cann to focus on other cricket matters.
Stovell, who is also manager of the Paget Lions in the First Division, has dedicated himself to providing help where it is needed for the betterment of Warwick’s cricket programme.
