Mayho’s home victory
Dominique Mayho, back from competing in Belgium with amateur club Asfra Racing Team Oudenaarde, showed his experience to win the Open Men’s category at yesterday’s time-trial at St David’s, crossing the line in 22min 1.1sec.
The event was held in soggy conditions over a ten-mile course that finished with a hill climb up to the St David’s Lighthouse, which set the stage to a challenging finish. Mayho finished just ahead of three junior competitors, with Matthew Oliviera second overall and first junior male (17-18) in 22:39.2, followed by Kaden Hopkins in 23:09.1 and a third Winners Edge rider, Conor White, in 24:19.6.
Jamie Cousins of Madison completed the top five with a time of 24:30.4.
Alyssa Rowse, of Bicycle Works, was the top junior female rider, finishing eighth overall in 25:41.1 as Winners Edge pair Darren Glasford and Nicholas Narraway completed the top ten with times of 26:19.6 and 26:41.9.
