Scotland experiences iconic Oval

First Prev 1 2 Next Last
Bermudian Marcus Scotland stands at the non-strikers end, with his last name and score dwarfed by the iconic gas holder at The Oval, London. One of the world’s most famous cricket grounds

Marcus Scotland had a match to remember after playing at the iconic Kia Oval — the home of Surrey County Cricket Club — in the 48th Annual Hobbs Trophy at the weekend.

The 15-year-old opening batsman scored 13 runs, including a six, in London Schools’ 80-run win over Surrey Schools in a 40-over match.

Under cloudy skies and cool temperatures, London Schools made 211 for seven before restricting their opponents to 131 for seven. London Schools’ win ended Surrey Schools’ six-year hold on the trophy.

Scotland will return to Surrey Under-15 cup action in two weeks when they play Middlesex away at Merchant Taylors’ School in North London.

Scotland has represented the Surrey age groups since 2016.
