Sussex and Notts even after day two at Hove
Delray Rawlins was wicketless from 11 overs as Nottinghamshire reached 214 for five at the close of day two in reply to Sussex’s first-innings score of 375 all out in the LV= Insurance County Championship second division match at the 1st Central County Ground today.
Rawlins, the fifth bowler used by Sussex, gave up 37 runs in his 11 overs of left-arm spin.
Nottinghamshire captain Steven Mullaney, batting at No 6, was their high scorer with 79 not out in 177 minutes at the crease, hitting seven fours and two sixes.
Wicketkeeper Tom Moores is not out on 23 while Lyndon James scored 63, including nine fours. Ben Duckett scored 31 at No 3 as early wickets fell around him.
James and Mullaney rescued the visitors from 52 for four with a partnership of 108 for the fifth wicket when James was out after 144 minutes at the wicket.
Opening bowler Steven Finn claimed three for 41 from 14 overs as Nottinghamshire were in early trouble at 39 for three from 11 overs with Finn taking the first three wickets.
