PHC Field (PHC won toss): St David’s beat PHC by nine wickets

St David’s made light work of PHC in their second match in the Athene T20 League First Division, wrapping up a nine-wicket win in just 8.4 overs after restricting PHC to just 47 for nine in their 20 overs.

PHC were hoping to be more competitive after winning the toss and electing to bat, but it was not to be as St David’s took wickets early as George O’Brien removed opener Christopher Clarke and No 3 bat Kaya Robinson was run out with just six runs on the board.

By the eleventh over it was virtually over as a contest, with opener Kevin Lambe, who put up any degree of resistance, scoring 13 off 30 balls before he was fifth out in 10.5 overs with only 25 runs on the board.

Lambe was the only batsman for PHC in double figures, hitting the only boundary of the PHC innings.

O’Brien finished with two for nine from his four overs while Aaron Paynter had figures of two for three runs from two overs.

Isaiah O’Brien, Derrick Brangman and Eugene Ball claimed a wicket apiece while there was also two run outs.

St David’s took less than nine overs to wrap up their second victory, with opener Ricardo Brangman scoring 28 not out from 30 balls, hitting four fours after putting on a quick 36 with Ijuan Smith for the first wicket.

Darrien Gibbons claimed the only wicket for PHC, bowling Smith for six when the score was 36. He finished with figures of one for 14 from four overs.
