Delray Rawlins scores 44 as Sussex 2nd XI settle for draw
Delray Rawlins struck 44 runs and also took a wicket as Sussex were forced to settle for a draw against Kent in a rain-affected three-day 2nd XI Championship match at Hove.
Sussex opened the batting and posted a total of 175 for 3 before declaring, with Fynn Hudson-Prentice top scoring on 75 and Harison Ward hit 40) Rawlins was scheduled to be last of the five batters in, but did not face a ball as rain began to fall.
Kent subsequently forfeited their first innings, with Sussex going back in and scoring a total of 214 for three before again declaring. James Coles top scored on 101 not out, with Danial Ibrahim scoring 52 and Bermuda captain Rawlins adding 44 runs from 33 deliveries at No 4 before being dismissed off the bowling of Jas Singh
The visitors came close to reaching their target of 390, scoring 372 for 9 with Tawanda Muyeye (136) leading the way and ably backed up by Marcus O'Riordan (88) and Jaydn Denly (77). Rawlins finished with bowling figures of one for 50 after taking the wicket of Nathan Gilchrist (0).
