Delray Rawlins hits form with bat as Sussex 2nd XI beat Hampshire
Bermuda captain Delray Rawlins was in good form with the bat as Sussex beat Hampshire by four wickets in the Second XI Championship on Wednesday.
In a low-scoring match, Rawlins was the top scorer in Sussex’s first innings, hitting five fours and six sixes on his way to smashing 68 off 65 balls as his side reached 223 to post a first-innings lead of 26 after Hampshire were bowled out for 195 after batting first.
Rawlins was influential in the field during Hampshire’s second innings, taking the catch to dismiss opening batsman Joe Weatherly before bowling No.3 batsman Toby Albert for 31.
Hampshire’s Aneurin Donald top-scored with 47 as his side reached 231 in 73.3 overs to set Sussex 203 for victory.
With Rawlins contributing 42 of the total alongside 62 from James Coles, Hampshire knocked off that total in just 33.3 overs to secure the victory
