Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy share spoils in Senior School Super 8 tournament
Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy shared the Senior School Super 8s cricket tournament honours at the National Sports Centre after remaining unbeaten.
Berkeley finished the day undefeated in the boys’ tournament after winning the round robin with a 4-0 record before defeating Warwick Academy in the final.
Warwick were sent to bat and scored 43 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted seven overs. Luke Fulton led Warwick with 15 runs while Alex Oppenheim finished with 12. Berkeley lost their openers cheaply but Taves Smith lead the recovery with 18 runs.
CedarBridge Academy also finished undefeated in the girls’ tournament, prevailing against Warwick Academy in the final.
Warwick went to bat first and scored 55 runs for the loss of two wickets in their innings. Adriana Argent led Warwick with 17 runs.
Chloe Card opened the Warwick bowling and took a wicket with her first ball before making three catches in the innings, but it was not enough to prevent CedarBridge Academy from reaching their target.
Amara Richards was in fine form scoring 28 runs to lead CedarBridge Academy. Richards’ innings included three sixes and two fours.
