Fast bowler Zeko Burgess focusing on positives
Zeko Burgess, the man who will spearhead St George’s bowling attack is focusing on the positives ahead of Cup Match.
Burgess, 28, got only one of the ten Somerset wickets to fall last year, but is determined to forget about the past as he keeps his eyes firmly on the task of getting the wickets needed to overthrow Somerset.
“Every year it’s always a positive mindset going in and the whole process is winning, not necessarily thinking about the negatives,’’ Burgess said.
“I am feeling pretty good. Obviously when it comes to the game it’s a different element, but as we go along I am feeling pretty decent. I’ve been pushing decent pace and the line is holding up pretty good, so it’s looking promising.
“For the supporters, it’s always difficult every year to go through it without the cup. Obviously the years haven't been too good, but as always we are hopeful as long as we stick to our game plan.
“It’s small things, with some patience in our batting and also realising that the game is going to go the way it’s going to go.
“As long as we stick to the wicket and bat we have a chance but trying to get 20 wickets in two days is a big task. We just have to stick to our game, bowl our lines and wickets will come. It’s Bermuda cricket, so anything is possible.”
