A decision on whether Friday’s matches at the ICC T20 Americas Regional Qualifier will be taken at 7.30am on the day of the games.

With Tropical Storm Philippe expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the island in the next 24 hours, tournament director Billy MacDermott will wait until the morning before deciding if any games will be played.

The tournament is at a crucial stage with Bermuda scheduled to play just two more matches as they attempt to secure a spot in the T20 World Cup next year.

The side, led by Delray Rawlins, are slated to play Cayman Islands at 10am on Friday as they remain in pole position to top the table, two points ahead of pre-tournament favourites Canada, who are set to play Panama at 2.30pm.

Should both matches be cancelled, as the weather forecast suggests is likely, it sets up the tournament for an explosive decider with the top two teams facing each other in a winner-takes-all battle for the final World Cup spot on Saturday at 2.30pm.
