Delray Rawlins and his Florida Scorpions team-mates crashed out of the US Open Cricket after losing to Clarion County Eagles by seven-wickets in a rain affected T20 contest at Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday.

The game remained in the balance with the Eagles 71 for three at the start of the penultimate over of a match, which was reduced to ten overs due to the adverse conditions, replying to the Scorpions 89 for four.

Bermuda captain Rawlins was given the task of bowling the over in which the Eagles blasted 21 runs off the slow left arm bowler to reach their target with six balls to spare.

Earlier, Rawlins scored 14 off 11 balls, which included a six and a four, before being run out in the final over of the Scorpions’ innings after they won the toss and elected to take first strike.

The Scorpions managed just one win in their four matches before bowing out in the eliminator round.
