Women’s cricket team Triangle Strikers head to Georgia

Women’s cricket team Triangle Strikers, a women’s select team from Bermuda, are in the United States for to compete in the Georgia Women Cricket Association 11th annual T20 tournament.

This year’s event, which is being held to raise breast cancer awareness, will be conducted in a round-robin format between eight participating teams, with all matches scheduled to be played at the Earl O’Neal Sports Complex.

Led by captain Chantal Oosthuizen and vice-captain Alex Lymbery, ten players from the island, including three under-19s, have travelled for the three-day event after seven players made the first trip to the US last year to compete as Bermuda Triangle Gems.

In addition to the players, Bermudian match official Linell Williams has been appointed as a match referee for the tournament.

Atlanta Pearls, Atlanta War Eagles, Atlanta Super Lions, Belizean Royal Strikers, Cali Crushers, Florida Panthers and UWI Women’s Cricket Club are the other participants.
