CG, in collaboration with Cricket West Indies, has launched the CG Cricket Fan Zone, providing residents of Bermuda with an exclusive home base to watch the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and cheer on the West Indies team. This special fan zone will be at The Front Yard, which has TVs dedicated to airing the World Cup matches throughout June.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024, hosted in the West Indies and for the first time in the United States, features 55 matches across nine venues. With the tournament taking place on the West Indies’ home turf, CG has partnered with CWI to support various fan parks and zones, offering more opportunities for fans to enjoy the matches.

“For many in Bermuda, the West Indies team feels like our own home team in the World Cup,” CG chief executive Naz Farrow said. “With our diverse population, we are confident that many fans will enjoy the CG Cricket Fan Zone. We are excited to leverage our partnership with the West Indies here in Bermuda, ensuring that our local community can also benefit from this sponsorship."

CG has been a proud sponsor of the West Indies team for the past five years. The ICC T20 World Cup marks a significant milestone because it is the first time under present sponsorship that the team will be playing in a men’s World Cup event on home soil since last hosting the tournament in 2010.

Johnny Grave, the CWI chief executive, said: “We are thrilled that CG has created a Fan Zone in Bermuda for fans to rally around and watch this fantastic event. We are incredibly grateful for CG’s support of Cricket West Indies and this Fan Zone helps make following the West Indies at the World Cup easier and more accessible for Bermudians.”

The CG Cricket Fan Zone will be on Front Street at The Front Yard and is set to be a vibrant hub for cricket enthusiasts in Bermuda, providing a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the ICC T20 World Cup. Residents are encouraged to visit The Front Yard and join in the celebration of this iconic sporting event and to enjoy the next four weeks of incredible cricket.

The T20 World Cup begins today with joint hosts United States facing Canada in a group A encounter, starting at 9.30pm.

West Indies begin their campaign tomorrow at 11.30am against Papua New Guinea in Guyana.
