Bermudian Cleon Scotland has been given the honour of raising West Indies flag at Lord’s.

Scotland, who works at the flagship ground in London, was preparing the facility ahead of the first Test match between West Indies and England today.

West Indies play England in three Tests and the eyes of the cricketing world will be on the first of those, largely because of to the retirement of an England bowling legend.

James Anderson will bow out of international cricket after the Lord’s match, which will be his 188th and final Test appearance at the end of a record-breaking career spanning two decades.

No fast bowler has taken more than Anderson’s 700 Test wickets and only India legend Sachin Tendulkar has played more matches in the five-day format.

In a press conference on Monday, Anderson said he would struggle with his emotions this week as he calls time on a Test career that began against Zimbabwe at Lord’s in 2003.

“I’m sure the emotions during the week will change, but right now what I’m trying to focus on is to stop myself crying,” he said.
