Bermuda Under-19 get into action on US tour
After some hard days of training on their United States tour, Bermuda Under-19 head into battle when they face the Ricardo Powell Cricket Academy in three 50-over matches starting today.
Janeiro Tucker’s side arrived in the US on Monday, with Luke Fulton and Keegan Jones linking up with the team in Georgia.
The matches, taking place at Param Veers Sports Complex, will be played up to Sunday, before the team returns to Bermuda the following day.
Tucker has opted for players who will be the correct age for the ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier next year, when they will attempt to secure a ticket to the 2026 event to be held in Namibia and Zimbabwe. This has seen young stars like Jermal Proctor, who turns 19 next month, being left out.
Luke Horan, Luke Fulton, Zeri Tomlinson, Keegan Jones, Isaiah O'Brien, Sa-Qui Robinson, Zakao Hart and Cadence Douglas are some of the established players in the side.
The eight were part of the side which fell short in trying to qualify for this year’s Under-19 World Cup in South Africa, with the Americas’ sole ticket from the qualifier held in Canada secured by the United States.
