Batting lets down Bermuda Under-19
Param Veer Sports Complex (Bermuda Under-19 won toss): RPCA Magic beat Bermuda Under-19 by 79 runs
Bermuda Under-19 were bundled out for 52 runs to lose the first match against the Ricardo Powell Cricket Academy Magic yesterday.
A polished display with the ball in the 40-over encounter had seen RPCA Magic being bowled out for 131 in 27.4 overs, but the Bermuda batters could not capitalise on that.
Sa-Qui Robinson, the No 6 batter, led the scoring with 14 from 28 balls for coach Janeiro Tucker’s side, with the rest of the batters not achieving double figures, as the Bermuda innings lasted only 25.1 overs.
Earlier on, Jahmi Douglas and Luke Horan picked up three wickets apiece, after Zeri Tomlinson won the toss and asked RPCA to make first use of the batting track.
Amrut Pore, the No 3 batter, was the highest scorer with 39 for the home team. He was closely followed Aran Chenchu, who made 27.
Bermuda’s run chase got off to a bad start when Keegan Jones departed for five runs with the score on six.
They never recovered from that early wobble, as Rishi Pandey caused havoc with three wickets for three runs.
There is no time for Tucker and his team to ponder on what could have gone wrong, since the second match is taking place today, with the third and final fixture on Sunday.
