St David’s pick up trophy for winning Athene T20 First Division
Derrick Brangman picked up the Athene T20 Premier Division trophy on Sunday after his St David’s side topped the standings when the final round of matches was watched out on Sunday.
St David’s already held an unassailable lead at the top of the league after beating Flatts by 70 runs a day earlier and they will head into the T20 semi-finals this week as clear favourites to win their second trophy in a week.
Devonshire Rec’s narrow 11-run victory over Somerset Bridge at White Hill Field on Saturday means they finished second in the division, with net-run rate separating them from third-placed Flatts Victoria, who also finished on 35 points.
The T20 semi-final line-up is completed by Willow Cuts, who finished on 30 points, the same amount as PHC, but Cuts go through by virtue of a superior run-rate.
PHC, Southampton Rangers and Somerset Bridge failed to qualify for the knockout stages, bringing their respective cricket seasons to a close
