Bermudian pair arrested for drugs in Canada
Two Bermudians arrested in Canada on allegations of trafficking cocaine, cannabis and cannabis resin will appear in court in Toronto tomorrow.Sereana Brangman, 28, from Warwick and Odin Lowe, 30, from St George, were detained after arriving in Toronto on an Air Jamaica flight from Jamaica. They were due to board a flight onwards to Bermuda when they were arrested.According to a Bermuda Police spokesman: “They were arrested in connection with possession of the controlled drugs cocaine, cannabis and cannabis resin and are currently being detained by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is the lead investigation agency. The Bermuda Police Service drug unit has been providing assistance to the RCMP in this matter.”Ms Brangman is the only child of murder victim Maxwell Brangman, who was killed along with his friend Frederick Gilbert in St David’s in 2008.At the time her father’s killer, Darronte Dill, was found guilty in 2009, Ms Brangman told The Royal Gazette she was a single working mother of three children. Her two daughters were then aged eight and six, and her son was one.According to her Facebook page she is friends with Mr Lowe, who describes himself as a painter from St George’s.The RCMP could not be reached for comment last night on what charges the pair are facing or where they are being detained, and Bermuda Police Service was unable to supply the information.
