Teenager accosted by would-be robbers

A teenager on an auxiliary cycle was accosted on Monday during an attempted robbery in Warwick.According to a police spokesman, at around 10.30am a 16-year-old young man form Hamilton Parish was riding along Middle Road near Tamarind Vale when he was approached by two unknown men on a motorcycle.A passing motorist caused the would-be robbers to flee, riding west.Police are asking anyone who may have seen the incident, including the motorist who assisted the victim, to contact the Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.Useful website: www.bps.bmHomes targeted in Cobbs Hill areaHomes on the border of Paget and Warwick were targeted in a series of burglaries on Monday, with the culprit or culprits escaping with cash, jewellery and electronics.A police spokesman said yesterday that six burglaries and one attempted burglary were reported in the Cobbs Hill area.Homes on Moonlight Lane, Marl lane and Rings Court in Warwick were struck, along with the Moongate Lane area in Paget.Anyone with information about Monday’s burglaries are asked to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
