Police, Corrections update framework on formal communications

Acting Commissioner of Police Michael Jackman and Commissioner of Corrections Edward Lamb sign a memorandum of understanding which took effect yesterday.

The Bermuda Police Service and the Department of Corrections have signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday, updating an established agreement.The agreement, which took effect yesterday ensures that the two groups share ideas regarding risk assessment, information shared within jails and the use of cells and facilities in the new Hamilton Police Station.Commissioner of Corrections Edward Lamb said the two organisations already had a very good working relationship.“This will only help further streamline processes to benefit all of those involved,” he said.Acting Police Commissioner Michael Jackman agreed, saying: “This is a mutually beneficial agreement which will help both organisations run and operate more efficiently.”Useful website: www.bps.bm.
