Spate of thefts of electronic goods prompts warning
The Bermuda Police Service has issued an advisory to the public after a recent surge in theft of high value electronic equipment.A Police spokesman urged people to remain vigilant about burglaries and make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended. The spokesman also encouraged residents to store valuables safely out of sight; record serial numbers of all items especially electronic equipment; and take pictures of their possessions so that if they are stolen and later recovered, there is an accurate way of identifying them.Residents are also reminded to report any suspicious vehicles, activities or people in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011. It is also important to note that receiving stolen property is an offence punishable under the law, added the spokesman.
