Sandys man arrested over stabbing
A 25-year-old Sandys man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in the West End that left a man needing medical attention.The victim, a 35-year-old man, also from Sandys, sustained several stab wounds during the incident, but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.A police spokesman said yesterday that they are seeking anyone who may have seen the incident, which took place at around midnight on Thursday, June 23, in the area of Woody’s Bar in Sandys parish, or anyone who has information about the incident.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.Man in custody for attempted theft of livery cycleA 52-year-old has been arrested and released in connection with the attempted theft of a rental cycle.A police spokesman said: “At 2.25pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted theft of a rental cycle.“It appears sometime between 1.45pm and 2.10pm that day, an unknown man attempted to take the cycle from outside Eve’s Cycles in Dockyard.”The suspect, a Sandys parish man, has been arrested and detained in connection with the incident, but has since been released on police bail.
