Two motorcyclists robbed
Two motorcyclists were accosted in separate incidents only minutes apart, with a set of keys, a wallet and an iPhone stolen.In both cases, the victims were accosted by a two dark skinned men wearing dark clothing riding a motorcycle. Police have not ruled out that the two incidents may be connected.According to a police spokesman, at around 11.25pm on Friday, police responded to a reported incident on South Road in Smith’s, near the junction with St Mark’s Road.“It appears that the victim, a 31-year-old Southampton man, was riding along South Road when he was accosted by two unknown men on another motorcycle,” the spokesman said.“The Southampton man sustained minor injuries as a result. The suspects managed to take a black wallet containing a black iPhone and personal items before making good their escape along South Road.”Less than half an hour later, at 11.50pm, police responded to a second incident on Lighthouse Road in Southampton.“The victim, a 52-year-old man, was riding along Lighthouse Road when he was accosted,” the spokesman said.“One of the suspects managed to take the keys from the victim’s motorcycle before both suspects made good their escape.
