Friends plan tribute for murdered teenager
Murdered teenager Malcolm Outerbridge’s Raleigh International friends are planning a video and photo tribute to him.The news came yesterday as police remained silent on the progress of their investigation into the death of the 18-year-old, who was stabbed on the Railway Trail in Warwick around 12.40pm on Friday.Mr Outerbridge, a student at the Adult Education Centre, returned from a Raleigh International expedition to Borneo just last month. His friends and family told The Royal Gazette on Sunday that the trip proved to be a life-changing experience for him.Raleigh members have set up a Facebook memorial group to allow those who knew Mr Outerbridge to share their grief. Yesterday, Raleigh Bermuda’s executive director Kristin White wrote: “There has been no announcement of the funeral date as yet, but Malcolm’s mom has asked the Raleigh Bermuda guys to be pallbearers, and I will be doing a video/photo tribute to Malcolm. We also would like to put together a photo album, with written tributes to Malcolm to present to his mom.”Ms White hopes Mr Outerbridge’s friends from Raleigh around the world will send her their contributions. Assistant Commissioner David Mirfield told the media on Friday that the emergency services were notified of “an assault,” on the Railway Trail, and arrived to find Mr Outerbridge seriously injured. He later died.Mr Mirfield said the circumstances of the attack were “unclear” and he could not release details, but confirmed police had launched a murder inquiry.
