Man assaults motorcyclist then steals his bike
A motorcyclist was robbed of his motorcycle in Sandys late on Friday night.According to a police spokesman, officers responded to the incident at the junction of Middle Road and Woodlawn Road around 11.45pm.“It appears that a 36-year-old Sandys man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he was approached by an unknown man at the junction who demanded money,” said the spokesman.“The suspect then assaulted the Sandys man before making good his escape on the victim’s motorcycle.“The 36-year-old man was injured and transported to KEMH for treatment of relatively minor injuries.”The victim’s motorcycle was later recovered by police on Rockywold Road in Sandys. The suspect is described as brown-skinned, about 5’4” tall and in his early twenties. He was wearing dark coloured jeans, a T-shirt and a baseball cap.Anyone with information should contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
