Detectives continue to investigate Bermudian’s murder in Jamaica

The murder in Jamaica of popular Bermudian restaurateur Karen Hudson-Lewis remains under investigation, with Jamaican police still awaiting results of a postmortem and forensic tests.“The young man who survived the attack is still in police custody,” said Deputy Superintendent Beresford Brown. “The allegation is that two men held up the occupants of the house. That is what we are investigating to try to prove or disprove.”Dep Supt Brown heads criminal investigations in the town of Mandeville, where Mrs Hudson-Lewis was shot dead along with taxi driver Everton Daley on New Year’s Eve.The two were gunned down shortly after arriving at Mrs Hudson-Lewis’s Jamaican residence. The caretaker of the house is still being questioned, and police are not prepared to discuss possible motives for the attack.Asked when police expect to receive test results, Dep Supt Brown said: “That’s a long call. Procedures are in place and in due course we will have something to say.”
