Two arrested after armed burglary
Two Pembroke men remained in police custody last night in connection with an early morning armed burglary at a Pembroke home on Tuesday.A police spokesman said: “Reports indicate that a man armed with a bladed article and what was reported as a firearm broke into the dwelling and assaulted one of the occupants.” The incident occurred around 1am on Tuesday.The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial emergency ward for treatment for a laceration to the shoulder and subsequently released.Police made two arrests soon after the incident and a gun was seized. The incident is now the subject of a police investigation headed up by Inspector Barry Richards of the Central Investigation Unit.Anyone with any information should contact Insp Richards on 295-0011.
