Man arrested after cannabis plants are found
A man has been arrested after police found a “significant quantity” of cannabis growing at a home in Sommersall Road, Smith’s.A raid took place at the property on Thursday.“At the residence, officers seized a significant quantity of suspected controlled drugs, which appeared to be under cultivation,” according to a Police spokesman.A 38-year-old man from Smith’s was arrested as a result, on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.Acting Chief Inspector Andy Morgan said: “This is another real success for the partnership between the community and the Bermuda Police Service, working together in our fight against the distribution of controlled drugs and tackling crime in general.”The suspect remained in police custody yesterday evening while inquiries continued.
