Police hunt man who threatened shop assistant with knife

Police are hunting a man who threatened a female shop assistant with a knife.A Police spokesman said: "Around 7.15pm on Saturday, January 5, police officers responded to a reported robbery at Belvin's Variety in Hamilton Parish."It appears that a lone offender entered the store brandishing a bladed article and demanded money from a female employee. The offender then escaped on foot with an unknown quantity of cash."The female employee was not injured. Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Belvin's Variety in Flatts around the time of this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011."
