Police appeal for witnesses to Saturday’s shooting

Police yesterday continued an appeal for witnesses to an “apparent” shooting early Saturday morning.Officers are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who saw “suspicious vehicles or persons” in the Hamilton Parish area between North Shore Road, Ducks Puddle Drive, Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club and Swizzle Inn between 1.45am and 2.30am.Police reported on Saturday that a 30-year-old man involved in an “apparent firearm incident” was treated at King Edward VII Memorial and released.Said a spokesman: “Anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is encouraged to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477 at the earliest opportunity.”
