Woman denies theft charge

A 42-year-old St George’s woman accused of stealing from the same grocery store on two separate occasions denied two counts of stealing.Kellie Miller appeared before Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner yesterday, with her lawyer, Richard Horseman.She entered not guilty pleas to stealing $35.80 worth of goods from Somers Supermarket on February 6 and $31.75 worth of goods from the same store on February 11.Mr Warner noted that the alleged offences were committed days apart and asked the legal parties involved if they had any objections to both cases being tied together. Both the defence and the Crown counsel agreed.The case was set down for trial on the defendant’s birthday, April 26 in Magistrates’ Court. The defendant was released on $2,000 bail.
