Arrest made after street robbery
A 31-year-old Pembroke man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on Sunday, reportedly involving the use of a firearm.
The incident occurred around 5.30pm in the vicinity of Princess and Angle Streets in Pembroke.
A spokesman said a 45-year-old Paget man was accosted by a group of men. “One of the offenders reportedly had what appeared to be a firearm,” he added.
The assailants apparently took an undisclosed quantity of cash and jewellery. The victim sustained minor injuries after being assaulted with crash helmets.
His injuries did not require hospital treatment and the assailants made good their escape on motorcycles.
