A teenager attacked with a blunt instrument yesterday remains in hospital this afternoon, according to police.

A Police Spokesman said that at around 6pm yesterday, officers responded to a reported assault in the Ord Road area.

“Details regarding this incident are unclear at this time, however it appears that a 16-year-old Warwick male was injured after apparently being involved in an altercation with a lone assailant brandishing a blunt object,” the spokesman said. “At last check the teenager was at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.”
