‘Altercation’ at Berkeley, student injured

A 17-year-old male Berkeley Institute student has been treated for superficial wound to his hand after an altercation with a female teacher during a class, it has been reported.
Police were summoned to the school earlier today, but it is not believed to have been put on lockdown.
According to a spokesman, an altercation between the student and a female teacher occurred at 9.30am, with the boy sustaining “a non life-threatening cut to his hand”.
The matter is under investigation by police, with the school launching an internal inquiry.
