Police still seeking help on Daniels death
Nearly one year after the disappearance and suspicious death of Jevon Daniels, no charges have been laid in connection with the case.
Three male suspects have been arrested and questioned but nobody has been charged, police told the media yesterday, while a cause of death has still not been determined.
Mr Daniels, 35, went missing on May 16, 2016. His disappearance was brought to the attention of police a few days later.
His body was discovered in an area of bushes next to Ireland Rangers Field, on Ireland Island, Sandys, on June 17.
Little information on the investigation had been released prior to a press conference yesterday afternoon at the site where the body was found.
Mr Daniels’s body was found in a state of decomposition wrapped in cloth, according to police.
“His hands and feet were bound,” Detective Sergeant Jason Smith said.
Those responsible for Mr Daniels’s disappearance went to “great lengths” to conceal and dispose of his body, the officer said.
“Those persons who are responsible for his disappearance would have had to drive his body to this area, and it is the belief of the investigating team that more than one person was involved in his death and the disposal of his body,” Detective Sergeant Smith said.
“We are today renewing our appeal to members of the public to help bridge the gap in this investigation, and bring to justice those responsible,” he said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 717-0864 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477.
