Two men have been arrested and a firearm has been recovered in connection with an incident that occurred near a Pembroke church late Monday night.

It happened in the vicinity of Grace Methodist Church, on North Shore Road, at around 11.30pm.

Police were tight-lipped on what unfolded, however they did confirm that police divers had recovered a firearm from the waters in the area.

The Serious Crime Department is leading the investigation.

“As a result, two men, one from Devonshire Parish and one from Pembroke Parish, are in custody assisting police,” the Bermuda Police Service said in a release issued tonight.

“The investigation is still in its infancy and at this stage it would be inappropriate to mention specifics with regards to this incident.”
