The family of American teenager Mark Dombroski has thanked the “countless wonderful Bermudians” who helped search for their son last month.

William Hagan, funeral director at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, provided a statement on behalf of the family today.

It read: “The family sends their gratitude to the Bermuda Police (Service) and Government, Royal Bermuda Regiment, rugby community, Bishop (Wesley) Spiewak and the music ministry of St Theresa’s Cathedral, Barbara and Chris Finsness, Frank Arnold, and the countless wonderful Bermudians who searched for their son and continue to pray for them in their sorrow.”

It added that correspondences for the family could be sent to the home in Media, Pennsylvania.

Mr Dombroski, 19, was found in the dry moat at Fort Prospect, Devonshire, on March 19, a day and a half after he disappeared after a night out with friends in Hamilton.

A forensic pathologist said that Mr Dombroski died from a fall and found no evidence of foul play.

Mr Dombroski was in Bermuda with a team from St Joseph’s University in Philadelphia to play in the Ariel Re Bermuda International Sevens tournament.
