A woman’s boyfriend yesterday admitted an assault on her that left her with a fractured shin bone.

Kingston Darrell, 26, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to unlawfully wounding Jashunte Furbert-Tuzo.

The court heard that the two attended a concert on February 10, at the Hamilton Princess Hotel on Pitts Bay Road, Hamilton.

The couple left the ballroom where the concert was being held and had an argument in the hallway that led to the venue.

During the argument, Ms Furbert-Tuzo told Darrell: “F*** you. I’m done. I’m going home.”

He then pushed Ms Furbert-Tuzo against a wall and started to choke her.

Darrell also pushed her to the ground and caused her to injure her right leg.

Hotel security arrived shortly after and Darrell told them that the complainant had fallen and hurt her leg.

Security reported the matter to police, who reviewed the hotel CCTV footage and saw Darrell attack the complainant.

Police later arrested Darrell, who told them: “The CCTV makes me look really bad.”

Darrell, from Devonshire, first appeared in Magistrates’ Court on June 11.

He pleaded not guilty, but changed his plea to guilty yesterday.

Magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until October 9 and ordered a social inquiry report on Darrell.
