Young girl chased through Hamilton by man
Police are investigating allegations that a young girl was chased by an unknown man in the City of Hamilton yesterday.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that police were “aware of a social media post circulating online from a concerned mother about an unknown man saying hello to and following her daughter”.
He said the incident was alleged to have taken place near the Youth Library, on Church Street, at about 4pm.
The spokesman added that the post said that the girl was chased by the man as she ran from him and was able to find safety in a pharmacy.
He added: “Inquiries are being conducted regarding the circumstances described and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to come forward.”
The spokesman warned that “any acts of vigilante justice that come to the attention of police — in relation to any alleged or actual incident — are not condoned and will be appropriately investigated”.
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 295-0011 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477.
