Police officer charged over social-media message

A police officer is to be charged with posting an offensive message on social media, it was revealed yesterday.
A police spokesman said the Department of Public Prosecutions had approved a charge of “sending a grossly offensive message via a public electronic communications service” against Pc Barbi Harris.
The spokesman added: “Pc Harris remains on suspension from active duty.
“No further comment will be made pending the outcome of the anticipated court matter.”
