Curfew breaches warning after 11 caught out of hours

A total of 11 people were last night caught in breach of the Covid-19 curfew, a police spokesman said today.

He warned: “Individuals out and about during these hours, without an official exemption as outlined in the curfew regulations, could find themselves summonsed to appear before the courts.”

The spokesman said officers continued to carry out checks across the island to enforce the midnight to 5am curfew, which will be in force for at least the next two weeks.

He added that everyone had a part to play in curbing the spread of Covid-19 and the curfew was “key to helping achieve that objective”.

The spokesman said people could check their curfew exemption status or apply to be excused at https://forms.gov.bm/covid-19/curfew.
