A live bullet was found by a member of the public on Sunday in the Harlem Heights area of Hamilton Parish.
A police spokesman said an off-duty police officer was given the bullet by a member of the public at about 2.40pm yesterday.
The spokesman said: “It is believed that the bullet was found in the Harlem Heights area of Hamilton Parish.
“On duty officers recovered the bullet, which will be forensically processed.”
Police announced on February 12 that they had stepped up patrols in the area after they received reports of multiple gunshots being fired at a home in the area.
A firearm was reportedly found by a member of the public last week in a Harlem Heights garden.
