Police issued a warning today after social media messages highlighted a “paedophile frequenting the Fort Hamilton area” in Pembroke.

The messages included a description of the person.

The spokesman said acts of “vigilante justice – in relation to any alleged or actual incident” would be investigated by police.

He added police were aware of the person identified and asked the public not to share the messages on social media.

The spokesman said suspicious behaviour should be reported to 211, or 911 in an emergency.
