Shots fired in residential area of Pembroke

Police officers last night confirmed a firearms incident in a residential area.

A spokesman said gunshots were fired in the Deepdale Road area of Pembroke just after 10pm.

Armed response units and officers from the forensic support unit sealed off the scene and examined the area.

Several live rounds of ammunition as well as spent cartridge cases were recovered.

A police spokesman said there were no reports of injuries and no one has been admitted to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
