Police appealed for witnesses yesterday after a gun was reportedly pointed at a man in Spanish Point Park on Tuesday afternoon.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt in the incident.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: “Investigators have ascertained two suspects – on a white Honda Scoopy-type motorcycle and dressed in all black clothing, with their faces covered by dark-tinted visors – rode up to a group of men in the area of Spanish Point Park, otherwise known as Pontoons.

“The pillion passenger reportedly brandished a firearm and pointed it at one of the men, who fled the scene.

“The suspects then rode off towards St John’s Road.”

He added: “Investigators have spoken with a number of eye witnesses and reviewed CCTV footage in connection with this matter.”

Police wanted to hear from anyone who saw two people that matched the suspects’ description in the areas of St John’s Road and Spanish Point at about 1pm on Tuesday.

Anyone with information can call 211 or the main police number, 295-0011.

The spokesman added: “Alternatively, you may call the confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477 or speak with a police officer you’re familiar with.”
