A WhatsApp message claiming home affairs officers are robbing homes is a hoax, police said today.

According to a Bermuda Police Service spokesperson, the message warns people about individuals claiming to be “home affairs officers” robbing homes.

The spokesperson said: “This is a hoax chain message which has originated in the US and has been in circulation for a number of years.

“Should you receive the message, please do not share or forward it on and instead delete it.”
