Three arrested after car and porch fires in Devonshire
Three people have been arrested after a string of suspicious fires in a Devonshire neighbourhood, police said.
Officers were called to a report of a vehicle fire involving a car in the Derwent Lane area at 1.15am yesterday.
A resident told officers that the fire, as well as another small fire on the front porch of their home, had already been extinguished.
Police and firefighters were earlier called to the same area after two other cars were set ablaze at about 12.45am on Thursday.
Residents, who put out the flames before first responders arrived, told officers they saw two people running from the scene shortly after the fires.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said the incidents were now under investigation and that they might be related.
He said: “Three suspects have been arrested and taken into custody in connection with these two incidents.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Inspector Clifford Roberts on 717-0590, or to e-mail croberts2@bps.bm.
Witnesses can also call the main police number, 295 0011, or the non-emergency number 211.
The BPS spokesman added: “Alternatively, we urge you to share any information with a police officer you know."
